Creating Future Leaders
Social Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century: the Simon Griffiths story
Simon Griffiths, a 27 year old BCom alumnus launched the Shebeen Social Investment Fund project in June 2010 after turning down his dream job at McKinsey & Co. Shebeen is a non-profit bar that raises funds for developing countries around the globe, with $2 from the purchase of each beverage sent back to a specific development project in that country.
Simon will share his passion for Social Entrepreneurship including his other ventures (Ripple.org and Who Gives A Crap). He will touch on his future plans to write a book with the former Head of Global Brand Marketing at Coca Cola, as well as consulting in the impact consumption space. There will be time to participate in a Q&A session towards the end of Simon’s presentation.

Learning the depths of Social Entrepreneurship has
made me realize many things in my own life. I have been
taking the wrong approach towards life which took me towards
the path I never wanted to take in the first place. Beginning
with the crystal clear clarity about my goals and taking every
one I know into consideration is the next step I intend to take
very seriously.
