Great entrepreneurial ventures are not necessarily born as ready-made ideas. More often than not, the world’s best entrepreneurial ideas are created “underdone” in the midst of cafes and garages, scrawled on the back of scraps of paper, notepads and napkins.
Some of the largest businesses such as HP and Apple all began forming blueprints in their parent’s garage. Other vast empires were created on the back of napkins and placemats in bars and restaurants, including Southwest Airlines and Compaq PC. From humble beginnings, these ideas spawned today’s strongest business competitors.
GE Napkin Competition by Student Entrepreneurs borrows this ethos – believing that our best ideas are created in the midst of living rather than conjured at the desk – taken in the form of an idea on the back of a napkin. NapkinComp 2011 invites YOU to present your own ideas, however simple or complex.
Think. Create. Inspire.
NapkinComp 2011 will judge your idea on THREE areas, as well as your basic description of your idea:
Is your idea an original concept?
Does it represent a modern-age approach to a commonly encountered problem?
How realistic is your idea?
Is your idea easy to implement, or is it a difficult concept to bring to life?
How will you business idea rise above its competition?
Does your idea even have competitors?
1. Competition is open to all current University and Tertiary students from Victoria (VIC).
2. You may enter as many ideas as you wish
3. You may submit your idea as a team (maximum team of two members), but only one prize will be awarded per winning entry
Competition organizers and judges will treat your business idea with discretion, and will only publish it with your explicit permission.
